ChatZap was born from a simple frustration: every time someone asks us to download yet another video chat application, we find ourselves wondering the same thing: what happens to all that data from our conversations?
Most platforms store your messages, analyze your video feeds, and build profiles based on your communication patterns. Even when they claim to value privacy, the data still exists somewhere, on some server, potentially accessible to employees, hackers, or government requests.
We built ChatZap with a privacy-first mentality to solve this problem definitively. Not through promises or policies, but through architecture. If data never exists on a server, it cannot be harvested, analyzed, or breached.
How ChatZap Is Different
No Server Storage by Default
Ephemeral chats and video streams are never stored on our servers. If you choose to save messages through ZapVault, they are encrypted end-to-end before they ever leave your device. We cannot read them.
End-to-End Encryption
ZapShield encryption uses ephemeral keys that are generated fresh for each session. When your conversation ends, the keys are destroyed, making retroactive decryption impossible.
Ephemeral by Default, Persistent by Choice
Chat sessions vanish when they end — no history, no cloud backup, no trace. When you want to keep a conversation, ZapVault stores your messages with full encryption. The choice is always yours.
Peer-to-Peer Video
Video calls connect directly between participants using WebRTC. Your video stream never touches our servers. It goes straight from your camera to your contact's screen.
Our Promise
ChatZap will never:
- Read or access your messages, attachments, or video content
- Analyze your conversations for advertising
- Share your data with third parties
- Retain encryption keys after sessions end
This is not a policy. It is how ChatZap is built. We cannot access your data because we designed the system so that we never have it in the first place.
